Our Zen Garden Made With Love Today

On Saturday we persist a Buddha statue. Kylie then ask me to build a Zen Garden. I asked her what sort of Ideas she had. Kylie then told me so I constructed it for her.

Seeing as today was Imbolc it was the best time to make a start on what is to become a Japanese inspired section of our garden. I began by making the centre point which is our Buddha statue. I then surrounded this with pebbles and planted Japanese Box plants to eventually grow into a hedge at the front. Of course over time we will add to this section, but above is the finished product of today's efforts.
Kylie and I make a great team. Kylie gets an idea and its Hun. Can you make this for me? But I will tell you a secret. I loved every second of it I love to make gardens. The above scrapbook was made by Kylie. Kylie gave the New Zan Garden the splendor it deservers with her Scrapbook.
Imbolc Blessings to all

This Scrap is for Kylie.

Imbolc is the festival of the lactating sheep. It is derived from the Gaelic word "oimelc" which means "ewes milk". Herd animals have either given birth to the first offspring of the year or their wombs are swollen and the milk of life is flowing into their teats and udders. It is the time of Blessing of the seeds and consecration of agricultural tools. It marks the center point of the dark half of the year. It is the festival of the Maiden, it is her season to prepare for growth and renewal. Brighid's snake emerges from the womb of the Earth Mother to test the weather, (the origin of Groundhog Day), and in many places the first Crocus flowers began to spring forth from the frozen earth.

The Maiden is honored as the Bride on this Sabbat. Straw corn dollies are created from oat or wheat straw and placed in baskets with white flower bedding. Young girls then carry them door to door, and gifts are bestowed upon the image from each household. Afterwards at the traditional feast, the older women make special acorn wands for the dollies to hold, and in the morning, the ashes in the hearth are examined to see if the magic wands left marks as a good omen. Brighid's Crosses are fashioned from wheat stalks and exchanged as symbols of protection and prosperity in the coming year. Home hearth fires are put out and re-lit, and a besom is place by the front door to symbolize sweeping out the old and welcoming the new. Candles are lit and placed in each room of the house to honor the re-birth of the Sun.

Another traditional symbol of Imbolc is the plough. In some areas, this is the first day of ploughing in preparation of the first planting of crops. A decorated plough is dragged from door to door, with costumed children following asking for food, drinks, or money. Should they be refused, the household is paid back by having its front garden ploughed up. In other areas, the plough is decorated and then Whiskey, the "water of life" is poured over it. Pieces of cheese and bread are left by the plough and in the newly turned furrows as offerings to the nature spirits. It is considered taboo to cut or pick plants during this time.

Imbolc is also known as Candlemas, Imbolg, Brigit's Day, Feast of Brighid, Lupercus, The Festival of Lights, and the Feast of the Virgin.

The Age Of Innocence Is Over

The Mother Goddess .
Needs our help.

I am proud of who I am! No one will ever take that from me. I choose to be pagan druid wiccan call me what you will I call myself a Child of Nature!! Because to The Mother Goddess we are all her children.

In a nutshell, the pagan religion is that of being envolved in the cycles of nature and giving thanks.
Men and women were once equal in power and status
as they lived in egalitarian groups. They knew the secrets of herbal medicine, mid-wifry, and the cycles of nature. This knowledge was passed on by verbal teaching, experience, songs, dances, and rites and rituals.

Today we have wisemen and women like the Shamens, Depoke, Dahli Lama, and we did have Mother Teresa.

Keep thinking things out and get good reliable information. You may find that you are more Pagan than you think!

I would like to see what everyone's Craft / Pagan name is. This will be fun .
So what is your Craft/Pagan name. My Pagan name is

I have Two Animal Totems. One is a Wolf and the other is a Eagle. My two friends a never far from my side.

The Circle Of life

Mankind has a poor understanding of life. He mistakes knowledge for wisdom. He tries to unveil the holy secrets of our father, the Great Spirit. He attempts to impose his laws and ways on Mother Earth. Even though he, himself, is part of nature, he chooses to disregard and ignore it for the sake of his own immediate gain. But the laws of nature are far stronger than those of mankind. Man must awake at last, and learn to understand how litte time there remains before he will become the cause of his own downfall. And he has so much to learn. To learn to see with the heart. He must learn to respect Mother Earth-She who has given life to everything; to our brothers and sisters, the animals and plants; to the rivers, the lakes, the oceans and the winds. He must realize that this planet does not belong to him, but that he has to care for and maintain the delicate balance of nature for the sake of the wellbeing for our children and all future generations. It is the duty of mankind to preserve the earth and the creation of the Great Spirit. Mankind being but a grain of sand in the holy circle which encloses all of life
